Katie Hickey

Katie is a special person to me. I have known her since well..since I was born. we grew up living on the next street over from each other. Our mother's were the VERY best of friends, and so were we. No matter what we did it was together. Riding bikes, family vacations, playing out in the snow, sleep overs. You name it, we did it. She is the friend I could tell anything to, and never feel funny, or judged. And rest assured, your secrets are safe with her. Through the years, school, and life has gotten both of us onto different paths, and living in different states, and back together again. But one things has never changed. Each time we talk it's like we never left each other.

About 5 years ago, Katie lost her mom in a tragic car accident, that has left permanent scars on all of us. during a time when we needed each other most, we went further away from each other. It was as if all of our great memories were too painful to think about, so it was easier to stay away from memory lane rather than travel down it.

Now here we are today, realizing how we still need each other more than we both know it, and talking once again like we always used to, and like we always will. It feels good to be back in each other's lives again, and agreeing to travel down memory lane, and celebrate our wonderful friendship and families....
