Honor Thy Father
My Dad has been gone now for over 20 years. He was always there to watch my ball games when I was younger, we'd go outside and play catch, camping trips and picnics and they were always enjoyable times. The best thing he taught me and my brother was the love and appreciation of music. He was a Country music buff and played pedal steel guitar for over 30 years. In fact, he was good friends with Corey's dad and uncle. Many of the best times we had together was when we'd "Make Noise" together. He'd be ready to quit for the night, and I could usually get him to play one or two more songs before he was done. He also was a stable provider and kept my brother and me on the straight and narrow path. He'd let us know when we did wrong. I guess the best thing he taught was a good work ethic, always be on time, and honor commitments. He had a great sense of humor, one of those very dry Vermont types of humor. Loved to tell cute stories. The picture that is included with this page is the lake that he was born near. The mountain was "his mountain". He used to climb that peak daily when he was younger. The lake is Lake Willoughby, in Northern Vermont. Spring fed and cold as ice, even in summertime! Since I'm involved in music, I really miss him when it comes to playing my songs. I know he's "up there" watching what I do and I hope he's proud of mine and my brother's accomplishments.
